Why UM-Damansara Is Not in Liga Super 2026/27

UM-Damansara received an extraordinary licence but was not selected for the final Liga Super field. Kelantan Red Warrior took the place after PDRM withdrew.

UM-Damansara United is not in the final Liga Super 2026/27 club list. Earlier reports treated the club's licence as automatic promotion, but the MFL decision worked differently.

A licence is not a guaranteed place

UM-Damansara was one of several Liga A1 clubs granted an extraordinary national licence. That meant the club met a threshold to be considered; it did not mean the club had already been promoted.

What happened after PDRM withdrew?

PDRM formally withdrew from Liga Super. The MFL assessed the eligible applicants and selected Kelantan Red Warrior, citing its completed financial documents and stronger readiness. Kelantan Red Warrior therefore replaced PDRM in the 12-club competition.

The final field

The league consists of JDT, Kuching City, Selangor, KL City, Terengganu, Star City, Negeri Sembilan, Penang, Sabah, DPMM, Melaka and Kelantan Red Warrior.
