Sao Paulo GP practice ended on Friday, 6 November 2026, with Kimi Antonelli fastest in the second session at Interlagos. The Mercedes driver recorded a 1:10.763, ahead of McLaren's Lando Norris and Red Bull's Max Verstappen, according to Formula 1's official results.
Antonelli leads a closely matched chasing group
Norris finished 0.253 seconds behind Antonelli, with Verstappen a further 0.006 seconds back. George Russell took fourth in the second Mercedes, 0.273 seconds off the fastest lap, while Oscar Piastri completed the top five for McLaren at 0.321 seconds behind.
That left just 0.020 seconds between Norris, Verstappen and Russell. Antonelli completed 37 laps, compared with Norris's 31 and Verstappen's 23. These are practice results, not a qualifying classification or starting grid.

Formula 1's session report describes Russell briefly moving to the top before Norris and Verstappen improved their times. Antonelli then lowered the benchmark into the 1 minute 10 second range. The focus later shifted towards longer runs, with the leading order unchanged at the end of the session.
Ferrari sixth and seventh as Bortoleto takes eighth
Lewis Hamilton led Ferrari's pair in sixth, 0.450 seconds behind Antonelli. Charles Leclerc finished seventh at 0.720 seconds back. The official report notes a lock-up for Hamilton at Turn 1 and a moment when Leclerc encountered Rafael Camara on the main straight during a flying lap.
Gabriel Bortoleto was eighth for Audi, followed by Red Bull's Isack Hadjar and Haas driver Oliver Bearman. Bortoleto completed 33 laps, while Bearman recorded 36.
Audi loses running; Camara finishes 16th
Nico Hulkenberg did not set a time. Formula 1's report says Audi was working on problems that had already cut short Freddie Slater's earlier FP1 outing, leaving Hulkenberg unable to run in the second session. Bortoleto therefore supplied the team's timed running in FP2.
Camara finished 16th for Haas, with a best lap 1.798 seconds slower than Antonelli's and 30 laps completed. Fernando Alonso was immediately ahead in 15th, while Carlos Sainz followed in 17th.
