Barcelona injury update: three players left the Parc des Princes pitch before the end, and Barcelona left with their first defeat of the season. Paris Saint-Germain won 4-2 in the Champions League. The source records 40 attempts on goal across the match, and a first loss in 12 games this season for Hansi Flick's side.
The withdrawals ran in both directions. PSG lost the Ballon d'Or holder Ousmane Dembele inside the opening 20 minutes and Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the second half. Barcelona lost Dani Olmo in the first half, against a squad the source describes as already in an injury crisis.
Barcelona injury update: Olmo out before the half hour
Event one. Minute 14. Olmo took Barcelona's first meaningful attempt and missed the target. Event two. Minute 27. He was replaced.
That is the extent of the source record on Olmo: one shot, wide, then an early exit. The club has not confirmed the nature of the problem. Barcelona are LaLiga leaders and travel to Real Madrid on Sunday for the first El Clasico of the season, so the midfield rotation is now a live question rather than a hypothetical one.
Barcelona's bench was used early. Torres came on and was denied by Garcia from close range at minute 25, then struck the post at minute 71 from a similar distance.
PSG lose Dembele and Kvaratskhelia
Minute 19. Dembele came off with a suspected hamstring injury. Fourteen minutes earlier he had been denied by Garcia, in the same passage of play that produced a save from Doue.
Minute 59. Kvaratskhelia was helped off after a knock. He had struck the woodwork inside the opening two minutes, the first entry on the source's timeline.
Both exits sit in the attacking third of PSG's structure. The source does not give a recovery timeframe for either player, and neither substitution is described as precautionary.
PSG 4-2 Barcelona: the goal sequence
- 38 minutes. Doue puts PSG ahead after a Lamine Yamal error.
- 55 minutes. Espart equalises.
- 72 minutes. Lucas Hernandez heads in from a set-piece.
- 79 minutes. Lamine Yamal levels from a tight angle.
- 81 minutes. Vitinha restores the lead from the edge of the box.
- 86 minutes. Fabian Ruiz taps in.
The pattern is alternating until minute 79. After that, PSG scored twice in five minutes, and the source attributes the closing sequence to Barcelona running out of gas.
"Athletically, they were able to sustain the pressure and intensity for longer than we were," said Barcelona forward Anthony Gordon, speaking to TNT Sports. "We need to do enough work, analyse the game and try and become that."
What to watch before El Clasico
Barcelona's team news is the first checkpoint. Olmo's status, plus the existing injury list the source references, determines how Flick sets his midfield at the Bernabeu on Sunday.
PSG's checkpoint is Dembele's hamstring. A confirmed strain removes the Ballon d'Or holder from the next fixture, and the source offers no timeline.
The result itself is settled: PSG 4-2 Barcelona, a first defeat of the season for the visitors, and a first loss in 12 games.
