Sky Sports Secures Long-Term Partnership with F1 Podcast 'The Fast and the Curious'

Sky Sports has agreed to a long-term strategic partnership with F1 podcast 'The Fast and the Curious' to expand its digital reach ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix. The collaboration will integrate content across Sky's digital channels while preserving the podcast's original editorial format.

Strategic Media Expansion Ahead of Dutch Grand Prix

Sky Sports has finalized a long-term strategic partnership with Formula 1 podcast The Fast and the Curious, establishing a direct content-sharing bridge between traditional broadcast coverage and digital audio audiences ahead of the 2024 Dutch Grand Prix.

Launched in 2023 and hosted by BBC presenter Greg James alongside Betty Glover and Christian Hewgill, The Fast and the Curious focuses on fan accessibility, driver personalities, and paddock culture. The new alliance integrates the independent production into Sky Sports’ broader digital ecosystem, introducing collaborative social content and cross-platform promotion.

Expanding Audience Reach and Digital Footprint

The primary operational objective is expanding audience demographics across European and global Formula 1 fanbases. Sky Sports aims to leverage the podcast's conversational format to engage newer demographics, while the podcast gains access to Sky's broadcast infrastructure and paddock footprint.

"We are always looking to innovate so this partnership offers something genuinely new and exciting for Sky Sports," said Billy McGinty, director of F1 at Sky Sports. "Alongside unlocking commercial benefits, Greg, Betty and Christian have a brilliant ability to relate to the everyday fan, so it presents a great opportunity on both sides to reach new audiences and grow fandom together."

Greg James described the integration as a major technical step forward for the show: "This is a very large mid-season upgrade! Adding a Sky Sports power unit to our podcast is so exciting. Partnering with Sky Sports gives us the opportunity to build on everything we’ve created so far while staying true to what makes the podcast special."

Editorial Independence and Upcoming Schedule

Despite the integration into Sky’s distribution pipeline, the core format of the show will remain unchanged. The program will continue its regular athlete-led features and driver guest appearances, which have previously included extended features with Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes junior Kimi Antonelli, and Haas-bound Ollie Bearman.

The partnership activates immediately as Formula 1 resumes after the summer shutdown. Sky Sports will broadcast the complete Dutch Grand Prix Sprint weekend live from Circuit Zandvoort starting Friday.
