Silverstone Drivers' Parade Replaced by Drivable Lego Fleet
All 22 Formula 1 drivers will take to the Silverstone circuit in drivable Lego minicars during the pre-race drivers' parade ahead of Sunday's British Grand Prix. Moving away from the traditional open-top flatbed truck procession, the activation will feature individual scaled vehicles navigating the 5.891-kilometer track in the hours leading up to the race.
The parade follows a similar format introduced at the Miami Grand Prix, where teammates shared larger Lego builds. For the Silverstone event, each driver will operate their own vehicle decorated in their respective 2026 team livery.
Engineering and Specifications of the Scale Builds
Constructing the fleet required significant mechanical adaptation to transform static block assemblies into load-bearing, mobile chassis:

- Material Count: Each individual minicar is constructed from approximately 28,000 genuine Lego bricks.
- Development Timeline: The project required more than 6,400 combined hours of development and assembly.
- Running Gear: The chassis are fitted with operational steering systems, drivetrains, and standard go-kart wheels.
- Performance Ceiling: The vehicles are calibrated to reach a top speed of 15 mph (24 km/h).
Silverstone Attendance and Weekend Schedule
The visual spectacle comes as Silverstone organizers prepare for a record-breaking weekend, anticipating an overall attendance of 565,000 spectators across the event.
The British Grand Prix operates under the Sprint format, featuring standalone Sprint Qualifying on Friday afternoon, the 100km Sprint race on Saturday, and the full Grand Prix on Sunday starting at 3:00 PM local time. Coverage of the Lego drivers' parade will form part of the pre-race broadcast build-up preceding the main event.
